Cyberspace did you mean internet?
This isnt cyberspace, this is digital culture.
In the past 4 years there’s been over a million percent increase in the number of
tweets sent per day. That’s gone from 5,000 a day in 2007 to that number in 8
seconds today.
The internet has enabled many people to learn from each other via virtual learning
environments. Global learning encourages an inclusive global
community where everyone has the opportunity to participate.
The internet has an amazing potential to aid education and health information
delivery in developing countries. Young people will benefit from this and should
be a part of the development process.
But the internet can be a scary place. Almost 33% of young people have experienced
cyber bullying at some point in their life some point in their life.
However the internet can be a huge source of support for many people and
offers great opportunities through peer mentoring and enabling people to discuss
their problems with others who are similar in forums
Digital culture is moving fast and education needs to catch up. Young
people and adults need to learn how to be responsible digital citizens
if we are going to create an effective digital culture.
Digital culture is an extension of our everyday lives.
It’s not virtual.. its not virtual life its real life
