At first glance these Pegasus Hobbies cottages were hard for me to distinguish which one
was the Large and which one was the Small design. There is about a dollar or two price
difference between them. They both have these matte black, solid windows right here. The
doors are pretty much identical. The thatching's slightly different, but in the packaging - which
was also the same size - they really looked like they were the same size and the difference
really is the depth of the buildings. They both have these wolf or bear - I think it's
wolf or coyote - pelts. This one is barely larger on the side and that is, of course,
the Large Cottage and I picked up a couple of those, two of them. So I think you can
use these in a city setting as some kind of run-down hovels. The other side that doesn't
have the wolf just has another window. There's the back again with another window. And the
little one is almost the same. Of course, this slopes down more. These are about 12
or 14 dollars. You can find them on Amazon.com and, you know, other means probably the Warstore
or MiniatureMarket or some other company, but I think I might have gotten these from
Amazon and - as are many things on Amazon - they are frequently on sale. This is the
interior. They're some kind of stone. Plaster maybe. They only thing I would do with these
is I might want to hit them with a little highlight over the roof to pick out more details
in the thatching. Otherwise I think they look pretty good and let's take a look at them
in a different setting, where they're actually as cottages look more appropriate with some
grass around and not in a city. The Pegasus Cottages do come prepainted which, of course,
is probably one of their best selling features. Here they look better, I think, in the farmland
or woodland setting than in the city and also they're hollow, so if you wanted to you could
put figures inside like this Slayer, which is a large warjack for Cryx. Most gamers I
know probably would not end up doing that. They would not want their figures to get broken
and, of course, you could just move your figure off to the side of the table to represent
that something is inside, but with these Pegasus Hobby buildings or even the Custom Kingdom
ones that could be an option. I think if you're going to end up getting two of these, I would
definitely get one Large with the black or grayish wolf on the side and I would get one
Small and that way at least you would have some variety. They would start to get a little
monotonous after a while and last but not least, they're probably the most affordable
prepainted miniature buildings on the market. If there's any that are available for cheaper,
please let me know and I'll be happy to buy some and review them.
