Welcome to another episode of Dom Bobomb!
So this week I've started playing Thief. I'm a couple of hours in as you can see and I've been playing it quite a bit.
I feel like they may have missed a couple of features off the back of the box.
So let's go over some of these new key features they've added.
The very first mechanic game introduces you to is putting out candles
and holy crap you're gonna be doing that a lot.
You're gonna be doing a whole lot more of jimmying up these windows with a crowbar though.
So basically you do the exact same animation
Every single time to get in and out of the windows
And some of them take a lot longer than others.
like these do, and this is me mashing the button. It just takes forever sometimes.
It's kinda ridiculous.
but it's okay though because we actually have worse things
than jimmying a window open with a crowbar.
and that's jimmying open windows, with a crowbar,
AND a load screen. UGH this is just the worst.
You couldn't have a bigger level than inside of a house.
This is pretty much anytime you jimmy open a window that goes into another area.
You might've wanted to put a door there. instead of just having a loading screen going into THIS
and #3, granted. The game is called Thief.
You're gonna be stealing a lot of *** in this game.
I've literally spend more time stealing stuff
than playing the game. Like I...I've not even progressed in the story
as I'm trying to get all these pieces of gold to do the upgrades
I am ***...I'm stealing just *** everything at this point
I'm terrible I am depriving these homes of all their prized possessions here
because I need to upgrade my wrench.
What's sort of game would it be without a silly puzzle that you have to solve
to progress the game. It just...it seems silly
I don't know what certain time period this is going for but,
that was, that was the best defense they had for this???
It's terrible.
#5 LockPicking
because we all know how much people love lockpicking
it isn't even fun lockpicking like Skyrim, where you can see the tumblers
no you just rotate your analog stick until it vibrates or
glows on the screen and that's pretty much it. It's kind of worthless.
#6 - Knocking people out
there's only two animations for this. Same with doing a takedown
so you're going to be seeing the same ones a loooooooot
#7 - It tries to redeem itself by having a brothel level and
I'm just gonna let you enjoy this
scene here for a minute because yeah
So this is gonna lead me nicely into #8 Inconsistent audio levels
Now you'll notice I have gone down the hall I'm looking at a completely different rooms
you'll be able to hear the last group LOUDLY
It's not even dissipated at all. So it's really hard to
Listen to the next set of audio when I can still hear the other room.
So there you have it. 8 things I think should be added to the box
as features because they're all over the place in this game.
