Hey everybody, this is the HappyCabbie We are doing daily vlogs on TheHealthyChannel
This is going to be video number one. We are going to be doing 40 vlogs in 40 days.
And basically what we are going to be doing is
we are going to be doing what is called a water fast.
I have my water bottle right over here. Now I want to go ahead and point out
a couple of things. Number one, I have done fasting like this
before. So I do know what I am doing.
The last time I did it was about 10 years ago
and it was actually kind of funny. I set out to do a 40 day fast
back then it was for religious reasons. It just happened to be right around my birthday
on day 33 of the 40 day fast was on my birthday and the school that I was going to at the
time they actually threw me a birthday party
complete with cake and fried chicken. I swear I am not making this up.
Imagine, being fasting for 33 days and they serve me a plate of fried chicken.
I didn't want to offend anybody so I ate the fried chicken and WOW.
But needless to say for those of you who have never done fasting before,
let me explain to you what the process is like.
For about the first week you are going to feel some hunger.
Then after about a week your body will get used to the idea
and you will start to move on to the fat that your body stores up.
In fact that is one of the reasons why our bodies stores fat.
In when there is times when there is not food available
we can go off of our energy reserves. Now, it is recommended that you
consult with a doctor first. And probably a 40 day fast is NOT
the thing that you just want to set out and do.
Something like maybe a 10 day fast may be more apt for you beginners out there.
Now there is a lot of misinformation. Now there is a lot of people who are into
this homeopathy and all this type of stuff
going around saying, "Yes, detoxing, detoxing." A lot of that is not based on sound science.
Basically let me explain to you what will happen
in this 40 day fast. Number one, the weight will drop off
Starting with about the first week I should probably lose about a pound a day.
However, After the fast is completed
and I go back on to solid food I will actually regain some weight.
So the total weight that I will be losing will probably be around 20 pounds
when you calculate the weight that I will regain once I begin eating food.
One of the reasons why there is going to be such rapid weight loss is because
basically, I am not going to be eating.
