My name is Shiraz Habib, and I studied the Executive MBA at Cass Business School in Dubai,
and was part of the first cohort in 2007. I moved from the US in 2005, to work for the
national bank of Abu Dhabi, and help them in setting up their investment products for
bank clients. The reason I chose to study an Executive MBA
was primarily for personal and professional growth, but also to explore the various disciplines
that form elements of a business enterprise. The highlight of the programme clearly for
me was the Corporate Governance module, which motivated me and my colleagues to pursue a
policy paper as part of our business mastery project in Corporate Governance for Islamic
Financial institutions. As an example of the success I've had since
completing my Executive MBA, I was invited last year by the group's chief investment
officer to establish alongside him a new business within the bank that oversees investment products
and its marketing strategy globally across asset classes.
I clearly believe that the success I've had with the new opportunity wouldn't have been
there had I not completed my Executive MBA at Cass.
