Mr Hildner is a passionate violinist.
and he can look back on a great career.
Although playing the piano was easier for him
he decided to play the violin
to play a great Orchestra someday.
After a long study,
he started his career at the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig in 1961.
Under conductor Franz Konwitschny
Vaclav Neumann,
Kurt Masur,
and Herbert Blomstedt he played all tracks
of classical world music.
After 43 years, in 2004 he quit his job at the Orchestra
and retired.
However, his love for music is still alive.
In 1996 we built a house in Zschortau and moved in
Together with my wife I took the first chance
to attend the worship service in a church.
We were very surprised
when the priest began the service
without an organ prelude.
After the worship service
we introduced ourselves to the priest.
I said: "I'm pretty good at playing the piano at home"
and then he gave me the chance to play this organ.
It's great fun
and I hope I can still do it a while.
Thate organ is the smallest one made by organ builder Scheibe.
The organ itself has also been surveyed by Bach
shortly before his death.
There is a certificate personally written by Bach.
which we only have as a copy here unfortunately.
The original document is in the British Museum in London.
The conditions are quite different.
Kids start from the beginning.
Most of the adults have already played the piano.
Some taught themselves without a teacher.
In those cases you have to look first: what they do right or is wrong
and you can help them improving their skills.
"Fine, that is enough for the moment..
...You've noticed your mistakes...
...and now we try to do it correctly.
You have a melody, or theme,
as you can say it in elevated style,
and the accompaniment in the left hand. It's always the same.
Actually people are interested in
everything you play with our right hand,
so it must be the stronger one"
The piano has the advantage
that you can virtually find the tones,
you only have to press them properly.
The violin and the piano
both haves the condition
or should have the condition
that you get in touch with
it in a relaxed way.
"It is very important to move the upper arm, too."
You can compare playing the violin with a relaxed walk.
And that is how you should touch the violin and handle the bow.
You have to look for each tone
to be played correctly.
However, you have to practice so long,
that you can limit the range
to find the note at any time.
You have to react quickly.
And when students are cramped
it is the best way to say:
please hold on for while and put the violin down.
Bow down.
So first, do not shake, because a cramp is coming back.
Simply relax
and when you feels good again
and you're relaxed
start again.
"... that is what you should try every day!"
"OK"
"but that is your own thing"
