00:00 Speaker 1: Now that's one great looking outdoor fire pit. If you wanna make one yourself,
just watch this video.

00:22 S1: G'day knuckleheads! Uncle Knacker's here. Hey check out the stuff I just got from
hard rubbish. An old washing machine and an old chair. Cost me nothing. With a bit of
imagination, I reckon we can make a really cool mobile fire pit. Lets get into it.
00:40 S1: The first thing we'll need to do is get to this washing machine drum which
often involves removing those big, heavy concrete weights.
00:58 S1: Remove the concrete, okay... And that's your drum right there. Now just gotta
remove the carcass of the washing machine, and, away we go. So there you have it. Here's
the drum that we've just taken out of that old washing machine. Fire goes on the top.
And this will sit on a stand that we'll get from that salvaged chair. Can't wait to get
this baby fired up. I can almost taste that first Beer.
01:33 S1: Now for the base of the fire pit, what we wanna do is, remove the seat from
the chair and then use this section here as my support. And hopefully that will do the
job. [01:49] ____. So there you have it. The seat frame's being taken off and all we're
left with is the frame support which is what the drum is going to sit onto, and be secured
to by these existing screw holes. Here you see the old legs, they've seen some wear in
their day and they've got a bit of rust, a bit of surface rust. I'll sand that back,
treat it with some Killrust and then give it a bit of a paint job and it should come
up pretty good. So I better get stuck into it and I'll see you soon.
02:28 S1: So I've painted the legs to that old chair and I've now attached the washing
machine drum to those legs on on that chair base. And now it's time for the big reveal.
I feel like I'm uncovering the latest Ferrari model. Let's see how she looks. There we go.
One, two, three. Hoo-hoo! How good does that look? It looks pretty good. I'm pretty happy
with how it all turned out.
03:00 S1: Now, if you're doing one of these yourselves with this washing machine drum,
if you can find one that's stainless steel, that will be even better. This is from a more
modern washing machine. The older machines come in a stainless steel model which will
last you forever. So that would be my recommendation, my only recommendation. Now you'll also notice
on my model that I, on purpose, picked a chair that came on coasters like that there. Because
I want to be able to wheel, the fire in and out of the backyard. Also it's great for rolling
around concrete and the height of that from the ground to the underside of the fire protects
the ground from heat.
03:54 S1: Another thing I did was, I got some 6 mill cement sheet or Fibro and cut it to
the size of the washing machine drum. And I placed it on the base. I had to cut it into
half there just so I could get it in. But it's there to have some added protection for
the base of the washing machine drum from those hot coals.
04:22 S1: Another thing I that I scabbed from hard rubbish was from an old stove, was this
cooking tray. Put that over the top and you can cook your snags on it. An absolute ripper.
04:36 S1: Just a quick tip. If you're finding it hard to locate an old washing machine,
duck on down to your washing machine repair place and they are always throwing these things
out. Just ask, it can't hurt. They'll be glad to get rid of it.
04:50 S1: So there you have it. My outdoor mobile fire pit. How cool is that? And it
only cost me six dollars for paint. That's amazing. Great tip, knackers! If you found
this video useful and you liked my mobile fire pit or you just don't want to miss out
on any future videos, please subscribe to my channel, thumbs up it, share and comment.
It'll be all greatly appreciated. So until next time, cheers!
