When the Queen passes away, Prince Charles Camilla's husband is next in-line
to take the throne as King of England.
But it was previously announced that rather than becoming Queen Consort, Camilla Parker-Bowles
would assume the title of Princess Consort.
Many believe this was said in a bid to improve the public's perception of her shortly after
she married Charles in 2005.
But now the couple's intentions may have changed. Speaking to Sky News, Lord Norton of Louth,
a professor at the University of Hull and peer in the House of Lords, said: Upon
the death of the Queen, Charles automatically becomes King that is it.
"His wife will become Queen Consort, formally established by precedent.
But if she wishes to be known by another title, thats a matter of royal prerogative,
so the monarch could determine that another style will be employed.
But Lord Norton thinks it is unlikely she will actually become Princess Consort and
Prince Charles is said to be pushing for her to become Queen.
It doesn't stop there, though.
"Most of the constitutional experts agree that by common law and tradition she is entitled
to be Queen," claimed Sally Bedell Smith, author of 'Prince Charles: The Passions and
Paradoxes of an Improbable Life'.
"It was obviously fudged when they got married. Diana was the uppermost in many peoples' minds
so they concocted the notion of a Princess Consort."
And royalcentral.co.uk reported that her only becoming Princess Consort would "set a dangerous
precedent" for the future and breaking the tradition.
When contacted by Daily Star Online, Clarence House said it would not be commenting further
on the matter. thanks for watching. please subscribe my channel.
