Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we are going to show you how to change the Upper
Spray Arm Snap retainer on your dishwasher. It’s a really easy job. All we are going
to need is a quarter inch or seven millimeter socket. Let me show you how we do it.
Now to do this repair you will find it a little easier if you remove the top rack. So first
thing we will do is disengage these top racks, there is one in each side, simply snap them
towards the center, slide them over the end of the track
and remove the upper rack completely, set that aside.
There is a large hand tightened nut on the top of the dishwasher tub there is a standard
thread so with your fingers simply disconnect that whole upper spray arm assembly by loosening
that up, it actually threads on to the fill tube that comes up aside of the dishwasher
and down through the very top.
Now we have the whole assembly in our hand, to remove that retaining clip we will take
a small socket say about a quarter inch or seven millimeter and from the top side we
will encompass all four points of that retaining clip, push a socket firmly down and that will
push those clips inside of the opening, then we can push it through.
Now with our socket we will push that clip remaining way through the spray arm and discard
it. On this particular spray arm we have noticed that there is fair bit of debris has collected
in it primarily cellophane, so it’s a good opportunity to remove all of that from the
openings.
Now to install our new one, simply push it into the opening. Take the upper part of that
assembly press it down over until it locks into place. It should turn freely now. And
then we will just thread this back on to the top spray holes.
Now we are ready to reinstall the upper rack, gauge both rear wheels and slide it in until
the front wheels catch and can pull those tracks out; we will install the rack stops,
the hinge side goes towards the center, simply slide it into the end of the track and snap
it locked.
And our repair is complete. We told you it was an easy job.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your repair.
