My name is Dan Daw
and I have been with the company for 3 years, I joined in January 2010
So i'm in a point of transition at the moment
in a very exciting point of transition with Candoco
in fact I'm moving from being in the studio as a dancer full time,
to also sharing that in a creative producer capacity so i'll work more in the office
because I learnt so much as a dancer, I can input what i've learned as a dancer for the company
and kind of, 'flip the coin' somewhat, so then I might get an inkling as to what
dancers might like on a particular day and when, and because i've got the relationship with the dancers
I feel like I can speak to them and kind of, get a little bit of dancer liaison happening.
It is a role that is quite young, and so we've talked about what the role might look like
we're still also trying to find out and we're at the point of still discovering what the creative producing role for Candoco might look like.
I'm lucky in the sense that I am able to still dance for the company as well, so will still be in a couple of works this coming spring season,
in the work by Javier, the duet, and also potentially Wendy's piece as well, which is still really exciting
because I don't think i'm ready to let go of dancing completely just yet.
