This video is Creating a Project Part 1 of the Lightworks Quick Start Tutorials
In this video you’ll find out what project settings you need to get started.
After double-clicking the Lightworks icon on your desktop,
You’ll see a progress bar,
then Lightworks opens and displays the Project Browser
which lists all the projects on the system.
To set up a new project, select a frame rate for your Project
if you’re editing film shot at 24 frames per second.
Choose 24 as the frame rate
Otherwise, if you’re in a PAL or PAL/SECAM country,
choose 25 frames per second
and if you’re in an NTSC country, choose 30 frames per second.
Now give your project a name and click Create.
and click creates
we have taken into the project
the imports panel is already open in the middle of the screen
i'll show you how to import media files in the next video
For the moment i want to show how to
choose global settings for the project.
Click on the project name and the Project panel appears
The details tab on the panel
shows the location of the project folder on your computer
the panel has tabs for video settings audio settings
film settings and miscellaneous settings
All I want to do at the moment is to specify the video output format for the project.
I’m choosing 1080P at twenty-five frames per second.
Any chances you make are immediately saved
If you ever want to get it back, just click on the project name.
To get back to the Projects Browser
click on the Exit icon at the bottom of the tool bar
A screen grab of your project is displayed on the project browser
And to leave Lightworks altogether, click on the close button at the top right
Okay, that’s all for Part 1.
The next video will show you how to import media files into your project.
