Hi Everyone! I sat here to film you the beauty-related
gifts I got from my friends for New Years. That was my only aim right now.
However.. Mentally and emotionally I'm not read to film that.
Because I am having such a difficult time with an online store...
I don't know how to say it, so bad. For the last whole month and still.
I'm afraid I have to make a video on that first
because I just can't stop myself from telling what happened
Let me tell you about my apple.com.tr experience. Truely this is being such a disasterous experience
for me almost for a month now.
It's not over yet. I think they lost my computer, I'll tell you
what happened. Apple is a huge company
and they didn't have their own store in Turkey until recently.
There were importers only. So far I have purchased all of my Apple
products abroad during trips.
That's both because I travel so much.. and all electronics are usually cheaper abroad-
not spesific to Apple. Apple is going to be opening their first store
in Turkey. It will be in Zorlu Center.
But they have already opened up their online store.
It is the same design all around the world. In Turkey it is Turkish.
They started selling their products in Turkey. Normally you can never order electronics from
abroad because of the Turkish customs law.
You wouldn't be able to get it from customs. They launched their Turkish website.
The address is apple.com.tr I was already planning to get a new computer.
Since I have been using Apple products for so many years
and I've been so happy with them... Actually I was considering a laptop...
Wait! I just realized I used my last desktop 11 years ago!
Since then I've been using laptops. Due to my youtube channels, I edit so much
footage. And desktops' performance is always better.
Both Mac and PC's. Because they're big. It's possible to fit in more.
I'm not very knowledgable about computers. As you all know I'm a social scientist.
Anyways.. when I saw Apple store I got so excited.
Yeay Apple is in Turkey I thought. I decided to get an iMac.
On Nov. 5 I put it in my basket and then calcelled it.
That still exists on my account. Then on Nov. 29 I made my final decision and
purchased an iMac. iMac is the Apple version of a desktop.
I upgraded every single thing on it. After all these years I'm buying a desktop.
Normally I can take my laptop and work anywhere. Sometimes I go to friends' offices
and find a table to work on. Since I wasn't going to be able to leave my
iMac and stay at home I thought it should be worth it.
So I upgraded everything! It took me days to decide this purchase.
That's mainly due to the high prices of course. Finally I bought it on Nov. 29th.
Since I bought it from the Turkish store, I had assumed that it would come in a day
or two. By the way I'm not upset that it didn't, that's
okay. The order summary said delivery will be made in 4-6
workdays. On Dec. 10th I received an e-mail
that informed me regarding the tracking number. That's great, I was thrilled.
I called them before Dec. 10th. They said this computer will be tailor-made
for you because you upgraded everything.
It's not in our Turkey stocks. I can understand that, no problem at all.
That's totally fine. I did made the purchase expecting it to come
in 1-2 days and the order said 4-6 days.
But it was still fine. I'm a very calm and agreeable person anyways.
So I got the tracking number of TNT on Dec. 10th
and I started to check it twice a day. On Dec. 16th, it was delivered it said!
When I login to my apple account it tells me that it is delivered to me.
But when I double check the no on TNT's page it says it's delivered in Amsterdam.
Since then, I've been working so hard to contact Apple
and find a solution to this problem. First of all getting through to their call
center is extremely difficult. For instance today I was held on the line
for 20 min. I gave up and hang up.
Then called them back half an hour later. This time somebody picked up after 15 min.
It is as if I'm listening to Apple's Call Center music
instead of radio. There is no progress about my computer.
Let me tell you more. When I saw the "delivered to Amsterdam" on 16th
Dec, I called them and waited patiently for a rep.
The lady told me something really weird. She told me that she can not see any information
about shipping. It is not on her screen yet.
How could this be, Apple sends me the tracking no
and days later call center can't see it. Then we e-mailed each other, no solution.
Then she sent me an e-mail saying her supervisor will take care of it.
I replied immediately asking for the supervisors contact info.
She didn't reply ever. It has been 5 days.
I don't want to say anything to the Call Center employees.
They do want to help. They're sweet.
But apperantly they can't do anything. I felt like they wanted to do something but
couldn't. Today as I said before I called the call
center. I explained what happened.
They checked and saw that the iMac was delivered to Amsterdam.
They have absolutely no idea why. They called TNT.
I said I'll keep waiting on the other line because once we hang up, it's so difficult
to reach them again. They couldn't get any information from TNT.
TNT said call another number. Meanwhile they keep explaining this to me.
They could't reach that number. Then they kept trying with other numbers
as I kept waiting on the other line. I told the rep the name of the lady that talked
to me before who didn't reply to my e-mail.
She was there. She said she hasn't heard from her supervisor,
that's why she hasn't been replying for 5 days.
I stayed on the phone for 1,5 hours. and the result is
they don't know where the computer is. they don't know why it has been in Amsterdam
all this time By the way the departure was from Shangai
and when I called the first time the lady kept telling me "no, our warehouse
is in Istanbul." I kept telling her that the e-mail that Apple
sent me says the computer is sent from China.
She kept repeating the same sentece: "no, our warehouse is in Istanbul."
I understand that they were trained to say that
because of China's reputation or something But I have the e-mail from Apple!
Once again the result is NO SOLUTION! Only this morning I spent 1,5 hours on the
phone including waiting on the line.
The amount of time and workload I've given to Apple in the last month
just to ask about my computer is unbelievable!
This just can't be! You can not do this to people!
I asked them to please close the online store. Make all the preparations first,
and then open it when ready. They couldn't reach TNT in any way.
They could not get any information about the computer.
Noone knows where the computer is right now, why it is there or when it will come to me.
I can not get any information from Apple. My super-expensive computer that I paid in
advance is somewhere in the world.
Will it ever get to me? When?
In what condition? Noone knows.
I sat down in front of my camera to film something else.
But since this is all in my mind right now I couldn't film anything else now.
At the end of the day let me also say this I do not plan to go back to using a PC.
The customer service has been terrible. let me try to call the events "interruptions"
but I think the products are too good to leave. I don't think there are equivalents.
I will keep on buying Apple products - that is - if I succeed in buying them..
or rather I succeed in getting the products that I paid for.
Since I share everything with you, all my experiences
I couldn't keep this to myself. and this isn't like "there was a problem today"
This whole thing has been going on for a whole month now!!!
You might want to re-think before you make a purchase on apple.com.tr.
I'm guessing they'll have products in stock on the physical store opens in Zorlu Center.
Hopefully there won't be such problems. As you know we have 4 videos every week on
Pembe Defter now. Make-up of the week on Sunday.
