Hey guys, what's going on? For Complex News, I'm Tamara Dhia. When news of El Chapo's capture
became public last week, the world was captivated by the story of the world's most wanted man.
Even more shocking however, was his surprise Rolling Stone interview with Oscar-winner
Sean Penn which was conducted while he was still at large.
Now Penn is finally opening up about the interview and addressing the speculation that he had
a hand in the re-capture of the Sinaloa cartel's leader. During a candid sit down with CBS's
Charlie Rose, Penn explains that he had nothing to do with the arrest and believes that Mexican
authorities are setting him up.
Penn went on to explain why he wanted to interview El Chapo in the first place: to discuss the
policy of the "War on Drugs."
Penn further claims that the intention behind his article was lost because people were more
focused on him getting the interview as opposed to the content of the interview.
Sean Penn's full sit down with 60 Minutes airs this Sunday. That's the news for now
but for all your pop culture updates be sure to subscribe to Complex on YouTube.
