This is Saffron.
She dreams of being a pirate.
She lives her boring life in New Jersey and dreams about swashbuckling adventure
on the high seas.
She suffers through high school dreaming of stealing from the rich with her true love
at her back and clashing swords with dastardly villains.
The difference about Saffron's dreams
is that they're actually memories.
You see, hundreds of years ago Saffron had another life.
Saffron remembers being an irish peasant girl named Emer Morrissey.
Terrible things happened but eventually she made her way out to sea
and adventure.
Saffron remembers that pirate life all full of wanton violence,
witty duelling
with a horrible Frenchman,
escalating romance,
and wild feats of derring-do.
But before she got a chance to enjoy the greatest treasure haul of her career
she was killed.
And not just killed, but cursed to live as a dog for 100 lifetimes.
Now it's the end of the twentieth century and the curse is over. Saffron suffered
through life as one hundred different dogs and through high school.
But she's almost free.
She's got a shovel and a head full of pirate memories that'll be better than
any treasure map. All Saffron has to figure out is a way to Jamaica
to take back what's hers.
