Something fishy was seen on a New York city train early Wednesday — and we mean fishy!
This small, dead sand shark was found on the floor of a Queens-bound N train around
midnight. (Via News.com.au)
Gothamist received this photo from a passenger
by the name of Mary explaining, "as soon as I enter, a stench hits my nose ... I look
down to the end of the car to see a dead shark on the floor. I think I stood there for a
good minute just staring, thinking 'Is this for real?! Oh come ON, NYC!'"
We don't blame them for that reaction. New York Magazine took the time to crack the curious
case of the random shark:
Maybe it was left there "as some sort of
art ... thing" or "some sort of marketing ... thing" or maybe it wasn't a shark at all,
but "a small person wearing a shark suit."
We're not sure about that last one ... Gothamist
actually reached out to the Metro Transportation Authority which confirmed the shark was real,
but they didn't give much in the way of leads as to how it got there.
And appropriately this happened just in time for shark week. So maybe that has something
to do it with it ... (Via Discovery)
Or maybe Sharknados are real.
The sequel will, after all, be set in NYC ... (Via New York Magazine)
