I'm at a CD release party for the D. Snow's first album.
In addition to being the release party for the Brazilian-Canadian rapper...
...this is the afterparty for the Brazilian Carnival Ball...
...so there are lots of guests, beautiful people, let's check that out...
...and talk to the rapper guy... What's his name again?
Tell me how that little boy from Santo Andre, Brazil...
...that used to sing pop tunes...
...became the rapper D. Snow that's here today.
You know I've always been a drummer.
-We even had musical projects together. -Those drums that were always out of tempo!
I started playing drums when I was 9, played in several bands.
But it was always hard in a band for everyone to commit.
In the meantime I always enjoyed singing.
-So I decided. -You said "screw everyone, I'll do mine".
I'll do my thing and stop waiting for other people.
You're D. Snow's DJ tonight, right?
Can we say you're responsible for playing the tracks as he lip syncs and...
...pretend he's singing?
No, it's not that! He's really singing.
-Really? -Ya, we rehearsed before, it will be great!
I'm with Thiago, D. Snow's brother.
Let me tell you something.
He was such a naughty child.
My mom was always running after him.
He used to disappear, go to parties...
...so for those that know Diogo Snow, this party side isn't new!
Your songs are mostly about women and money.
Did you record this album because you love music or you just want more girls and money?
I love music.
The rest is just consequence.
- If they attract them it's great, right? - Yep!
- Vince is another DJ here tonight. - Right.
Brazilians here in Canada listen to lots of old Brazilian music.
Do you think they are more nostalgic than those in Brazil?
I think they miss Brazil a lot, so they listen to anything.
It doesn't matter how old the song is, they will listen to it if it's Brazilian.
-Thiago is a special guest here tonight, right? -Yes, I'm a guest on two songs.
It was great to record his album.
It was slightly different for me because I'm a pop rock singer.
So I didn't come naturally but it was a great learning process.
How do you classify your musical style? Is it rap?
Well I couldn't really classify it myself.
I couldn't completely identify myself with a style or person.
It's hip hop mixed with pop and some rap.
Were you inspired by Justin Timberlake?
Yes, he's someone I really like...
Wait a minute! Justin Timberlake is N'SYNC, Backstreet Boys.
No, not that, not that!
Come on Diogo, do you rap or you're part of a boy band?
What are you thinking of the party so far?
It's great! It's our pleasure to be here!
You spend lots of time away from Brazil. What do you miss the most?
The warmth of the Brazilian people.
-And Brazilian girls, right? -Always!
How's your stay in Canada so far?
It's amazing. Toronto is a wonderful city.
I came from Rio in Brazil and I'm loving it! Lot's of Brazilians!
I feel a great vibe!
And seeing a great friend of mine here tonight!
It makes us really proud of our friend!
I'm loving it here! I'm not even missing Brazil!
It's my third time here and I'm really happy to see Diogo Snow on stage.
He was the one who picked me up at the airport when I came for the first time.
So unlucky! First time here and you're greeted by D. Snow!
As a very experienced DJ from Brazil, what do you think of the party?
Great show, great vibe, amazing production.
D. Snow's concert is amazing!
That's it! Bye!
