This video shows how to import and view files and images on your computer using Windows
8, when you insert a memory card into your network connected printer.
In this video we will use a mouse to select items. If you are using a touch-screen computer
you will tap the selection whenever the video says click.
First, insert the memory card into the appropriate memory card slot on the printer.
Next, you must obtain the printer host name by printing a Network Configuration Page from
your printer. Because printing a Network Configuration Page is unique for each printer, we will not
provide those instructions here. Once you have the host name, go to your computer.
Right-click the lower left corner of the computer screen to display the menu.
Click File Explorer. Right-click Network, and then select Map network
drive. Mapping a network drive creates a place on your computer where you can access the
contents of your memory card. From the Drive drop-down list, select an available
drive letter of your choice. Find the host name from the network configuration
page. In the Folder text box, type \\(back slash,
back slash) the host name \ (back slash) memory_(underscore) card.
Ensure the Reconnect at sign-in box is checked and then click Finish.
To access the files from the memory card, you must make sure the printer is on. If it
is off, press the Power button to turn on the printer.
Right-click the lower left corner of the computer screen once more.
Click File Explorer. Double-click the drive letter and host name
of the memory card on the printer to access your files or images.
From here you can view or import any file or image that is on your memory card.
