>>GRAHAM ARMFIELD: Hi there, my name's Graham Armfield from Coolfields Consulting.
And in this video I'm going to show you how you can use Dragon NaturallySpeaking
to correct text that is in a document already.
Here we are in a Word document with some text that has already been dictated.
Sometimes when you're dictating though you can stumble over your words
or just say the wrong word, and you'll need to correct it.
To correct your mistakes you just use the command correct
followed by the word or phrase that is wrong.
For example:
Wake up
Correct Berkshire
Go to sleep
You'll see a dialogue box has appeared with some possible options that you might have meant.
To choose one of these options you would just say choose followed by the appropriate number.
In this case however we know that Winchester is actually in Hampshire,
and that's not an option.
So you can just say the word that it's supposed to be.
Wake up
Hampshire
Go to sleep
And you can see that it's changed the word.
Actually, Winchester is approximately 60 miles from London
so lets correct that too.
Wake up
Correct fifty
sixty
Go to sleep
It's also possible to spell out corrections if you want to.
Wake up
Correct right
Choose one
Spell that, cap W, r, i, t, e
Choose one,
Go to sleep
It's also possible to add words into stuff you've already typed.
To add words in you can use the commands Insert before, or Insert after.
For example: Wake up
Insert before Hampshire, southern,
Go to sleep
Now on to formatting. Firstly of course, we need to select
the text that you want to format.
And you can select a single word by saying Select word,
or alternatively select a block of text
by specifying the 'from' and 'to' words.
But you can also select an entire paragraph or line if you want to.
Once the text is selected, there are a number of commands
for influencing the formatting, for example:
Wake up
Select Waterloo
Make bold
Select town to London
Italicise that
Select previous paragraph
Cap that
Go to sleep
So, that's how you can influence the format of the text that you've already dictated.
There are a number of other commands but I won't cover them here.
