There's a lot of opportunities, a lot of chances to make some good connections with other people.
After I started here and I started getting involved, I realized I had made the right
decision.
It starts with some of those connections and you kind of get your foot in the door and
then perhaps it might be your chance to start your career.
I started as a staff reporter and within a semester I was the assignment editor. And
then at the end of my freshman year I became Managing Editor, which is like the highest
position for the paper.
It makes people be a lot more involved. I mean, there are three or four of us that do
it for the sheer fact that we are absolutely nuts about working on the newspaper staff.
But then most of our staff is there to get the grade and learn on the way.
So it's really a great combination to encourage people to learn and then they get the grade
to benefit it.
Every time I do a production, no matter how stressful it is, I can still sit back and
say: "This is what I want to do with my life because I'm having so much fun!"
It definitely is going to be an experience I can look back on and say:
"That was one of the best decisions I've ever made because if I didn't go here,
I don't know where I would be."

I'm Zach Fetchin. I came to Penn State Beaver to get my education and play basketball.
My name is Jasmine Green and I'm from Jersey City, New Jersey.
Our women's basketball coach, he called me, and he was like, "I'm looking for a guard.
I've got this new team starting up."
And I was like, "okay, that sounds good. That sounds good."
I've always been a Penn State guy. Ever since I was little, I grew up watching Penn State
sports.
I just wanted to come here and further my degree and play a sport."

We just, bonded, for no reason, the first practice.
None of us knew each other.
And, right out of the gate, everyone thought they were going to walk all over us. We showed
them, we've got talent and skills.
Every athlete knows every other athlete. Everyone's pretty close knit. You know everybody. As
an athlete, you go to other sporting events.
We have a lot of school spirit. I think people really get into it, a lot.
I bleed blue and white, just like all the T-shirts say. And it's a great feeling to
know that I'm a Penn State athlete.
I've had a great experience all four years here. I've met a lot of people and I've developed
some great relationships with my teachers, my coaches, and my friends.
And just the experience has probably been the most rewarding for me.
"Where do you come from?" Penn State Beaver, I'd even put that on my resume.
Everyone's just so supportive. It's hard not to love this campus. It's hard not love Penn
State.
Penn State Beaver is a great place to meet new people, to play sports, to further your
education and get a great experience.
