It's our responsibility to create an environment where the student can grow
and mature as much as it is to introduce them to new ideas
and innovative ways of thinking about interior space and interior design.
I'm Doug Seidler, I'm an Assistant Professor of Interior Design
and I teach at the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University.
I've authored a book on AutoCAD for interior designers.
The thing that makes this book unique
is the way that it
presents AutoCAD
in a visual way
and is specific to what we use in the interior design studio.
The thing that's exciting to students about using AutoCAD is it allows them to
focus a little bit more on their design
a little less on the actual craft of the drawing because the computer is so helpful
in creating
precise lines.
One of the things that's exciting to me about teaching at
New England School of Art and Design
is the proximity of us being
in a major metropolitan city like Boston.
We have amazing resources for our students,
we have amazing architecture in our city, both
contemporary and historic,
that we can reference in our classes and help students make connections between what
we're talking about
and what they see when they're walking to class every day.
At the end of the day, it's about their career. We're happy to share with
incoming students that our graduates
place jobs in the Boston area top firms and across the country.
