I'm Cindy Forrester.
My name is Craig Nellum.
My name is Joel Carranza.
My name is Lisa Grescuwitz.
I'm from Peoria, Illinois.
Olney, Illinois.
Steger, Illinois which is a suburb south of Chicago.
I just completed the BOT program in Continuing Education.
I'm in the Bachelor's of General Studies which
is the Board of Trustees program.
I am in the Bachelor of General Studies program.
Here at Eastern Illinois University.
I chose EIU because it's more of a smaller campus and the people
here are friendly and nice and were very helpful.
It was affordable, it was flexible.
I could work around it with my schedule and my family.
That is why this is such a wonderful program.
The instructors know that they're not teaching somebody
who is just out of high school and it's neat the way that
they relate that and interact with the students.
The instructors made the students feel comfortable
after being out of school for a long period of time.
It wasn't awkward going back to school.
We weren't treated like you were still in high school.
You were actually treated like an adult.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff and faculty.
They work with you.
I was going through some rough times and all of them
just pitched in even though they didn't even know me
and helped me.
I felt the staff was extremely helpful in any questions I had.
The BGS staff was great.
When I called the BGS Department, they were able
to immediately pull up my file and let me know where I stood
as far as what my credit hours and things like that.
In choosing this program, I would say that it is a program
that will allow you to take a lot of different classes.
It also allows you to meet a lot of different people
of a lot different diverse backgrounds.
They will do anything up and beyond the call of duty
to help you.
If there's a will, there is a way.
It's not an easy thing.
You've got to put your mind frame that this is something
that you want to do because there are a lot of challenges
that come with being an adult and going back to school
after being out of the environment.
It's definitely well worth it and it's something that they
can do as long as they put their mind to it.
They work as hard to achieve your goal as you do.
