Well we’re probably one of the most unique state parks in the region, including parks in Kentucky.
We are a 3,000 acre state park surrounded by 27,000 acres of state forest.
We have three rivers, one of them was the first natural and scenic river – the Blue River – available for canoeing and swimming and fishing, it’s a premiere small mouth river.
On the 27,000 acres, plus our three, we have over 200 miles of recreation trail, we have over 900 caves,
we have Wyandotte Cave, currently closed, but we are hoping to reopen that In the next few years.
We have a brand new aquatic center, and on a day like today at 102° that’s probably our most visited facility.
We have three campgrounds, one’s a Class A electric and water and comfort stations.
We have a primitive horse camp, an electric horse camp, and a campground along the river.
And we’re kind of a more remote property. We’re still being discovered.
We have an awful lot of great folks in the community that take first time visitors out on the trails, or will help them find their campsites when they’re done.
It’s all about diversity of activity and people at the park.
Come down and see us! We’re all about being good neighbors, hope to see you.
