hi today we're going to show you how to clean up raw photos using lightroom.
in the interest of saving time we've preloaded the photo which was taken
back stage before a theater perfomance. as you can see color temperature is way off
so we will start with showing you how to white balance. first we're going to select
the eyedropper tool and locate something in the photo which should be white. in this case
the back wall will do fine.
so we'll click that. that's pretty good start
but the skin tones are slightly off
so we drag the color temperature and tint sliders until we get the colors we want.
the photo is also a bit to dark so we are going to adjust exposure.
now that looks ok but we are going to make it better by adjusting the fill white
since this image was taken in low light there's a good chance it is somewhat
noisy. click on the image to zoom in
noticed the noise in the shadows we are going to fix that by going down to noise
reduction and adjusting the luminance slider. watch the noise disappear as we make
our adjustment.
click on the image again to zoom out this looks pretty good so far. we're
going to make one final adjustment so the image really pops. scroll down to
effects so we can add a vignette. notice how the vignette draws your eye to the
subject.
it's looking pretty good but we're going to make it a bit more subtle by
feathering it
.in no time at all using only a few simple adjustments we have turned an unusable
photo into something that looks quite professional. as you can see in the
before and after there is a remarkable difference. while there are many more
tools in lightroom, this is one way in just about a minute to give your photos
a polished look.
