Alpha One is excited to announce the launch of the Mobility App for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
It is available for free download in the itunes store, see the link in the info box below for more information.
We are just going to do a quick show and tell on the new app,
just a little something to give you a better idea of what it’s all about.
When you first get into the app you will be brought to the first section,
a direct news feed from our website.
To view an article you just click on the article you want, and you will be brought there in a new window.
Just like anything else on an iphone/ipod touch, you can zoom in and move through the text as you read.
To get back to the news feed just click the back button in the top left of the screen.
As part of our app, we have an events feed pulling directly from our website.
We also have a classifieds section with all the Assistive Equipment,
Mobility Equipment, Structural Items, and Vehicles that we have posted.
Within the classifieds section you can scroll through and click on the item you are interested in.
Once the item is selected you can actually email the person directly from your device.
We also have Maine’s Disability blog, One in Five, available.
And finally you can directly connect to our YouTube channel and watch our newest videos.
For example, we can watch this video from the Denis Pratt ADA awards that happened this past summer.
Despite the fact our videos are captioned on YouTube, the videos within this application do not have captions.
As soon as YouTube allows captions for apps, we will have them available.
Well that’s our new App.
We hope you liked this quick walk through,
don’t forget to download our free App from the itunes store and rate it.
Thank you.
