There are two primary ways to access article databases.
You can navigate directly to an article database that you know by name,
or you can search for one by the subject it covers.
Either way, you start by clicking the Databases tab.
If you know the name of the article database you need, type it into the search box.
Then click the article database's name to select it from the list of results.
To choose an article database that suits the subject you are researching, click the By Subject link.
Then, choose a subject area that fits your research question.
Here, you have two options: one, perform a search across multiple article databases with this search box;
or two, choose a single article database to search in.
The search box is a little slower and can be difficult to revise searches in but it covers a lot of ground.
Selecting an individual article database provides faster searching and more tools to help you revise your search terms.
Note that each subject has many different article databases within.
Each relates to a special topic but only the article databases with checkmarks next to their names contribute results to the multiple database search we talked about before.
To learn what types of article each individual article database contains, click the "i" button next to its name.
Here's that information about what sorts of articles JSTOR contains. You can scroll down to see even more.
