Welcome to Lugaru - Fighting Fundamentals.
This video will introduce you to all the techniques you need to kick some serious ninja rabbit
butt.
So when you run Lugaru, you're going to be presented with this main menu screen.
You'll want to click "Enter", then "New User", then enter your username.
Press enter, when you're just starting be nice to yourself and choose "Easier".
And now there are three major modes you can try.
The tutorial will walk you through all the moves at your disposal.
Clicking the dot on the world map will start the campaign story mode.
But the quickest way to get to some fighting is to open up the challenge mode.
You'll have to start at level one, but every time you beat a challenge level, you'll unlock
the one after it.
So here we are in level one.
Moving the mouse rotates the camera around our character.
W, A, S and D move our character forward, left, back and right relative to the direction
the camera is facing.
Spacebar is jump.
And shift is crouch.
Left click is your attack button, and you want to hold it down early, because your character
will auto-attack as soon as an enemy is within range.
In fact, when you are unarmed you should never let go of left click, because your character
will continue to string together auto attacks every time an enemy gets near you.
You'll notice though that I'm generating a wide variety of attacks.
Here's a breakdown of the basic Lugaru moves, feel free to pause the video here to soak
it all in.
If I am crouching and holding Left Click my character will attempt the sweep-kick.
He'll go for the double-punch if I am standing still and holding Left Click.
If I am running and holding Left Click, my character will attempt to do to Chuck Norris'
favorite, the round-house kick.
Of the three basic moves, the sweep kicks are the fastest. Which means they are very
hard to intercept, but unfortunately they do the least amount of damage.
Round-house kicks, on the other hand, take a while to perform, but do a lot of damage.
And the standing double-punch is right in the middle, requiring a moderate amount of
time to perform and doing moderate damage.
One last piece of information you should have is that all moves can be reversed.
You can initiate reversals by pressing Shift right when an enemy is about to strike you.
If you end up doing the same move too many times in a row, the enemy will catch on and
reverse you.
You can execute a counter-reversal by pressing Shift right when a reversal strike is
about to contact you.
You'll know you've done a successful counter-reversal, if instead of getting smashed in the face
your character rolls or flips away to safety.
To practice your timing doing these moves, to learn more moves, and to practice fighting
with weapons, definitely check out the Lugaru Tutorial.
Remember to hold Left Click early and often whenever you want to attack, and watch out
for wolves.
