Hello
This tutorial will show you the parts of an MLA citation for a journal article.
Then, you'll be able to create one on your own.
Let's get started!
Here we have a citation for a journal article.
The parts include:
The author name
The name of the article
The journal title
The volume number and issue number of the journal
The year the article was published
The pages the article appears on
And the format type.
Let's take a closer look at these parts.
We'll start with the author: Last name first, followed by a comma, then the first name,
followed by a period.
Then, include the title of the article, making sure to include quotation marks around it.
Also, be sure to include a period within the quotation marks, and capitalize your title.
Next include your journal title.
Be sure to italicize the journal title.
Next is the volume number and the issue number of the journal. Be sure to place a period
between the volume number and issue number.
Then include the year of publication for the article. Make sure to include parenthesis
around the year, and follow it with a colon.
Then you'll want to include the page range of the article and follow it with a period.
Finally, include the format type. This article was published in print.
After you include the format type, be sure to add a period.
And that's how easy it is to create a citation in MLA format for a journal article!
