Good to see you've got your own channel now! I've you on your other collaboration channels.
I like your tone, you're very easy to listen to.
I had no trouble at all having you on auto-play. I don't have a sweet doodle intro-thingy for
my channel, but I also don't have a name for it yet either.
So, one thing at a time. I won't have computer access tomorrow, either.
I'll probably be a little bit behind. And I know that do have, or did have, an Oscar
Wilde anthology. It was like a huge volume of all of his work.
But I'm not sure if I still have it, and I still have to go through all of my books
downstairs before I move. I'm not sure if I'll find it after I record
this video but I hope I do, because I don't like reading
off the screen so much. I haven't been able to find any Neil Gaiman
books at the used bookstore. I don't know why.
Maybe nobody's selling them to the store. The last book that I had any encounter with
that he had authored was The Graveyard book. I didn't get to finish that because somebody
stole my ipod. I didn't even know there was a movie associated
with Anna... ...K?
I don't remember how to pronounce that. When I heard it pronounced in your video
I didn't even know that was how it was supposed to be pronounced.
And I did not practice it at all before I made this video.
I do own the five plays by Chekhov. In a Penguin Classic--
Classics? Collection.
I should have brought the book with me-- I'll go get it.
Okay I'm back. This is the version I have of Chekhov's plays.
I like your cover better. I didn't take the sticker off 'cause
I don't want the little thingies all of the place.
I do have a little tool that I use for that, but I don't know where it is.
So I haven't bothered. I originally bought this because
I wanted to learn some monologues from the plays.
And I still haven't done that at all. I haven't even read 'em, so...
When you mentioned it was I like, "I'm pretty sure I have that."
So I looked for it, and I found it. I'm glad I'm not wasting a book!
Since there are five plays in here, what I'm think I'm going to do is use them
as in-betweens. Which is, once I've finished reading a book,
I'll read one of the plays, and then I'll read the next book.
That way I can kind of split up the narratives and I don't get them confused.
Because I will do that! Like the last time I read Stephen King,
I read four of his books in a row and I got them all confused.
I don't want to do that with the plays. Since I have to do reviews of them,
I imagine it would be better to tackle each narrative individually.
Later on, reflect on all five of them, and compare them.
I'm not sure yet. I haven't read them, so I don't know.
I think that goes with anything that's a collection of short stories,
or a collection of longer poems, or something like that.
I would prefer to work on them in units. One play at a time, one poem at a time.
And just reflect on each one of those individually. Maybe that's NOT such a great idea...
Because that's like reviewing one chapter of a book at a time?
But I don't know if that's a bad idea either! I think tomorrow, since I won't have a lot
of time on the computer, I'm gonna spend most of that time reading.
And I think the order of reading will be as follows...
I'm gonna read, probably, three of the plays. I'm going to start with Ivanov,
and then I'm going to read The Stranger, and then I will read The Seagull,
then I will read On the Road, and then I will read Uncle Vanya.
Please forgive me if mispronounce ANYTHING, I do all of my learning-of-words from reading,
not by talking! Please correct me as much as you see fit.
It's probably a bit optimistic to assume I'll finish all of that reading in one day,
but at the same time, I would rather NOT finish a reading list
and carry it to the next day, than to finish the reading list early,
in one day, and then have nothing more to read and be
stuck watching Netflix all day. I also wanted to ask you
which of the five plays you'll have to read for class?
My guess is it ISN'T Ivanov? Any of the other four seem like likely candidates
to me. If you haven't read any Chekhov AT ALL in
your classes, it's probably gonna be The Seagull,
or The Cherry Orchard. I don't know anything about your curriculum.
Let me know! Just tell me which one it is!
I don't care if I'm right or not. I know you've sent me an e-mail,
regarding other possible titles. I've noted them all down,
so the next time I go to the bookstore, to take back all the books I don't wanna keep,
I can get some new ones that I do! So, thank you!
I'll see you soon.
