Hey, Mamas and Daddies, It's me I am MaxLaine and I am doing this video for Mr. ASAP Rocky.
Don't worry if you don't know who he is because I didn't know who he was until I read this
article. Ahh, he is a...Rapper, from Harlem New York and he recently did an interview
where he talked about Dark skin girls shouldn't wear red lipstick. Now I recently did a video
called *** *** Dudes. Now, not really calling Mr. ASAP Rocky a *** *** Dude because I
don't really know him like that. But for the simple fact of him talking about a shade of
lipstick is *** *** Dude type like topic that he was involved in. Yes, he was asked
during the interview what does he think about women and when they wear makeup and he said
that you know he likes girls natural. Now he should have stopped right there when he
said that BUT he continued to say that Dark Skin Girls should not wear red lipstick. Really?
Then he proceeded to say that even light skin girls shouldn't wear purple lipstick. That's
like that rule should be applied to all shades of complexion, Now here's my problem. Here's
a dark skin man talking about what a dark skin woman shouldn't do and it's in negative
kind of way. Now, since then he's trying to "lighten it up" by saying a response to what
he was talking about. However, I'm not here to discuss that the fact that it came out
your mouth is the point and this is why Black community, this is why the Black community
has issues within its race with the Dark skin versus Light skin situation. Now I've seen
a lot of Youtubers out there who do makeup and they show the type of lipstick they're
about to apply on their lips and I'm like, "Oh girl, I don't think you should apply that
on your lips." But once they put it on, I'm like "oh that looks really nice" so I think
any shade of lipstick should be based on your preference. Some people can rock a certain
shade of color and some people can't. They just can't do it. And I've seen a lot of Youtubers
my complexion who wear lipstick and I'm like, "that's just not for me" but I wouldn't say
it's because of my complexion. And makeup is just to enhance your beauty. People are
beautiful with or without makeup and it's just there to enhance it. And so I kinda don't
like makeup personally but when I do wear it I wear it light, I try to wear it very
light. And I just feel like you know the Youtubers out there, Dark skin, light skin, whatever
shade you are. I'd like for you guys to make a video and show us your red. Show us your
red lipstick and just flossing it and just making it look beautiful. And tell me what
you guys think about you know his, his about his comments. I will leave a link to the article
below. And I just feel like you know what we just need to stop all these negative comments
among the black community, white community, or whatever community that you're from against
each other. And I'm sure Mr. Rocky has Dark skin sisters, and cousins and maybe a dark
skin Mama. So, please if you are out there just be careful what you say. I know as myself
as a dark skin woman I didn't necessarily embrace my Dark skinness all through out my
life. It wasn't until late adulthood that I started to embrace my Blackness and embrace
my Black hair and my Black lips. And so I just wanted to do this video just to deter
anymore negative comments about Dark skin girls wearing red lipsticks, Now, if you want
to talk about women wearing, black women wearing blue eyeshadow that's a whole different thing
I'm not in the makeup world, Umm, so don't even bother try to challenge me on that one
cause I do not know. I'm not saying that you should or shouldn't but it's a whole open
ended discussion I'm not trying to get into. I just want to encourage every black woman
out there that you can wear whatever shade color you want to. You don't have to listen
to Mr. ASAP Rocky. He don't know what he talkin about. Ain't nobody got time for that. So
leave your comment and I will you byeee...no actually bye.
