I'm a first year student at Curtin doing an undergrad degree in arts and commerce. I am
also a volunteer at the CV office and I'm working as a Director of Health programs.
I've got the John Curtin Leadership undergraduate scholarship.
It's about the values that John Curtin had of vision, leadership and community service.
We have to do International exchange within our degree. We have to do 24 hours of community
service per semester and of course keep our grades up as well.
Pretty easy, when I found out about it I managed to get the forms straight away.
You had to write an essay as part of applying. It had to be an issue that was relevant to Perth
or the wider WA region.
I would generally say apply for everything that you can. There are so many of them out there
and I know a lot of people who didn't think they could but ended up with scholarships
and just in Year 12, work hard because it's really worth it in the end.
