Remove the screws for the Switch Cover
Gently push cover towards the display and feel for the friction points.
Be careful not to pull too far, there are a few connections under there!
ZIF stands for Zero Insertion Force. These ZIF "cable to board" clamps are fragile and are in a difficult spot.
NOTE: The speakers on this model are inside the switch cover. This will save a step.
BTW: Processors use a type of ZIF connection.
Keyboard Removal
There's one screw hiding by the memory compartment.
Get these screws at the same time as the switch cover screws for a little more slack on the previous step.
Up and out. Very little force should be applied!
Wi Fi Radio Antenna cables need to disconnect.
The cables pass through from under the laptop, over the body and up into the back of the display monitor.
These snap off like a button on a jacket.
I'm done cooking. Time for pasta.
First the underside Hinge Screws!
I don't really work this fast.
Pull up on this handle to disconnect the display data cable.
Pass the antenna negative and positive cables through to the top.
Top Hinge Screws are going through metal. Bezel cover screws are going through plastic first. Get all four out now.
Rubber screw covers conceal and cushion.
Take your time! These plastic parts are very fragile and have many little friction clips!
Inverter. The Backlight plugs into this. We still have a long way to go though.
Remove the display panel. Plastic pins hold the top in place! Watch out.
