>> My Rice story is that I grew up in Houston, born and raised.
My brother came to Rice three years before I did.
And as soon as I found out that it was the best school in Houston, the best school in Texas,
my brother was there, and I was 10 minutes away from my grandmother and 30 minutes away
from my mother, I was pretty sure this was where I was going to go.
I have nothing but great experiences from my time at Rice.
I met my now husband of 10 years at Rice.
Sid Rich class 2000, as well.
And for those people who don't know what it's like to be --
have been at Rice, all you have to do is talk to someone.
Our faces light up when we talk about it.
We have nothing -- even bad experiences somehow turn into good experiences,
once you've been here for a long time.
So I just want to say that I'm very excited to have recommitted myself to becoming involved
in Rice activities -- Rice alum activities.
And congratulations to Rice on the hundredth anniversary.
Go Rice!
