Good Morning. Today is Friday, November 22nd, 2013,
and today's topic is Turkey Day,
although it might be just as well about the subject of Retirement.
After my wife and I have worked years looking after her 93 year old mother,
the family has finally decided that it's time to find a home for her.
Happily, we were able to find a place that was able to offer the same comforts of life we were able to provide her.
We moved her in at the start of last week, and by the end of the week, we were attending "The Fall Ball,"
including Girl Scouts and a live band.
And what you see here is only the Happy Hour *before* the dance!
So if her mom is finally squared away with a life of comforts and good dining,
the Carol and I can finally start turning our own attention back to our own families.
Here, we had Thanksgiving Dinner together, a week before the official holiday.
So now, we're deep in the work of packing our belongings, shopping for an R.V.,
and hoping to get our cats acclimated to a world of change.
No, you cannot escape a harness by walking backwards.
We are looking to reduce our grid dependence on monthly expenses,
and move out west to be closer to her wonderful daughter, Christine.
We don't want to be an imposition on her blossoming young life,
but at last, after being apart for years, we have the opportunity to be closer together.
It's a genuine delight to be in her company,
and we're just lucky to be at a point where we can square away on part of family support,
in order to finally tend to another.
So 2013 is coming to a rapid close,
and with it my commitment to a have weekly vlog, a weekly writing, and to giving up soda.
Looking forward to the New Year, This is Joel 'TwistyNye,'
wishing you "Happy Turkey Day!" and see you next week.
