Hi. This is Lisa with OCLC and this is how to respond no to a request in WorldShare ILL.
In this video, we will select the item from the "Can You Supply?" queue. We will review
the request information and select a reason for no from the dropdown list.
Finally, we will respond no and then we will take a quick look at batch processing.
From the Interlibrary Loan Home page, we can select the "Can You Supply?" queue under the
lending quick links or we can select from the left hand menu "Can You Supply?"
Here, we show the requests that are awaiting response. We can select the record that we
wish to look at by clicking the title or the ID number for the item.
On this record, we have the option to answer yes, no or conditionally. We can review the
request details by scrolling through each section of the record, request details, borrowing
information and lending information.
When we're ready to respond no, we will want to give a reason for the no to keep that in
the statistical detail in WorldShare ILL.
Here, we're going to say that this is a non-circulating item. Note that when you click your response,
it's automatically registered as no.
If you wanted to batch respond to a number of items, you can click Batch Respond to "Can
You Supply?" the option no. A table will open above the list of items awaiting response.
You can add items here by scanning the barcode or entering the barcode or by clicking the
green plus sign from the table below.
When you're ready to batch respond, again, whatever you select will apply to everything
in the table. In this case, this item is on loan already.
When you're ready, click no. You will receive a dialogue saying that this request has been
updated and it will be removed from your "Can You Supply?" queue.
In this video, we covered how to select items from "Can You Supply?" We looked at the request
information and selected a reason for no from the dropdown list. Finally we respond no and
we looked at batch processing.
