One of the things people ask me, what if the crash was partially my fault? What if it was
really snowy out, maybe it was kind of partially my fault? Well, Missouri law
allows that. If the crash was twenty five percent your fault
that means it was seventy five percent someone else's fault.
So if you're damages are a million dollars
you're still entitled to seventy five percent of your damages which would be
seven hundred fifty thousand dollars. So the insurance company
and the attorney try to negotiate that out but if that doesn't work
than it is the jury that determines the
truck accident victim was so much at fault, the truck accident company,
and the truck driver was so much at fault. And they'll figure out the damages if
they say a million dollars then whatever percentages is at fault the jury comes up with
then the million dollars is reduced accordingly.
