Mercedes: I am the nusing and clinical support unit supervisor
at the Klotz Student Health Center here on campus.
I manage the Patient Care area and all of the support staff
that help the physicians.
A lot of it is being able to work quickly on your feet
and just handle things as they come.
And that's kind of the art of nursing anyway.
I really love the students. I have a board certification in college health
and I got into this profession because of my love of this population.

Flying the trapeze is something I've wanted to do ever since
I saw Ringling Brothers when I was a little kid.
And I found a school in Woodland Hills, took a class, and that was it.
I was done. I became instantly passionate about it.
You're always still a little bit nervous. You always have a healthy respect of heights.
But it's incredibly exhilarating, and the endorphin rush is fantastic.
I mean, it's just... It doesn't get better than that. (laughs)
It makes you feel like you can do anything, and that's a wonderful feeling.
And you can take that anywhere. Not just to your job, but in life.
