Nicole Gagnon: This is the year end thesis show.
Dan Beaudoin: We were given eight months to develop a product of our own.
Matt Hughson: My product is a set of hockey equipment: shoulder pads, shin pads and elbow pads, which grows with the youth player
during their main growth period.
I have designed a construction hard hat for hot weather wear.
Dan Beaudoin: My product is called the Sauter Enhanced Fire-Extinguishing System
Nicole Gagnon: The product I designed is called Take The Test and it's a device that's meant to go in bars and pubs and it's used to
help prevent impaired driving.
Music
Don Wilson: The models you see here tonight, they're all made by the students. They're their designs. We have quite a high rate of
success in students finding work out of this program.
Marc Nardangeli: You're not only looking at the design itself of a product but how it's manufactured, how it's actually going
to be made and the cost of it. My experience at Humber itself helped greatly.
Nicole Gagnon: I came to Humber for the practical experience it has to offer. It's not as theoretical, you get to use the shop
there, you have drawing courses and sketchbooks. It's very hands-on.
Matt Hughson: The beauty of the Humber program is that it combines everything from. You get a bit of engineering, you
get a bit of design, you get a bit of sort of the mathematics and physics behind everything.
Dan Beaudoin: You're not getting a professor who has three TAs. You're getting someone who's been in the field for a while
who's able to help you out.
Matt Hughson: It's an unbelievable experience.
