During the reign of Han Dynasty.
After the previous emperor died, government got corrupted with greed.
Young emperor's mother was privatizing the politics, and so did eunichs. (Sorry, this game's text is a bit difficult to translate, so I'll improvize)
Court was wasting money on pointless things.
Funds, extorted from people, was all being waisted on foolish power struggle.
Even officials of lowest ranks were easily bribed, bandits appeared around the world, a period when humans were living by sacrificing other humans.
The Blue Sky has perished, the Yellow Sky will soon rise; in this year of fall, let there be prosperity in the world! (some slogan about Yellow Turban Rebellion, in chinese I think)
(Same, but in japanese, translation of previous saying)
Said by someone, that sentence, circulating between people, has affected history greatly.
People has started gathering under Choukaku, who was preaching religion of the heavens, Taihei.
Blue Sky is Han. And the Yellow Sky is the next dynasty, that will come after the fall of Han Dynasty.
Listening to the will of heavens, people, hoping for that day to come, worn yellow turbans by their own will.
Four hundred years since the foundation of Han Dynasty, the most brutal of its rebellions has started - Yellow Turban Rebellion.
A horizon filled with yellow turbans has spread before general.
Unlike ordinary battlecries, roar of the yellow turbans sounded bizzare, like a cry of a bird.
Officer: Don't fear! Push!
General has shouted loudly, but his shout was in vain.
Volunteers from the Han side were already intimidated.
They were just a mob gathered with little funds after all. Although turbans were similar, they were driven by faith.
Not to mention turbans were way more organized than volunteer army.
Most faithful believers easily broke through volunteer army's left wing.
Volunteer army that fell from a single blow no longer needed any leaders.
General: D, don't run! Attack!
Ginga: This is not good. At this rate we'll get surrounded and destroyed.
General: ...Who are you?
It's not strange for insolent phrases to be ignored on the battlefield.
But for a general, ready to grab any straw, this calm tone of a young man sounded reliable.
Ginga: Expand the line and stand ground. If we let them break through, it's all over.
General: D, does he have a plan.
Ginga: I'll do something. If you don't want to die, do as I say.
It's turbans' initiative right now, but we'll have opportunity too, soon.
Ginga was thinking like that.
His experience of surviving many battlefields made him able to think like that.
Teienshi: I'm the Yellow Turban officer! Teienshi!! Those who seek death, come at me! (Cheng Yuanzhi)
A man has appeared from Yellow Turban army, riding horse.
A giant of a man smelled like blood. And, while all army was driven by faith, there was none in the man.
Teienshi has relied only on himself.
That means, he's same as me.
Ginga thought to himself... No, because he relies only on himself, the direction where he points his sword is not clear.
If this life ends now, there won't be any regret.
Ginga has raised his sword towards the blue sky.
Teienshi: What's wrong, cowards!? Are you afraid of my name!?
As he roared, Teienshi brandished his spear and looked at generals. Soldiers has backed off.
They naturally moved back.
Volunteer army was surpassed that surprisingly well after all.
At least they still had stamina to run, volunteer army has dropped their weapon and collapsed.
Ginga has laughed.
In other words, it's my turn.
Passing between escaping volunteers, Ginga has calmly approached Teienshi.
Teienshi looked calmly at the daredevil.
A fragile young man. And a foolish one. But, even though, he was the only one not afraid.
Ginga: From the looks of it, your head is the most valuable here. I suppose I'll take it then.
Teienshi: To stand before this Teienshi, it seems there are some with spine within volunteers. Name yourself.
Ginga: I don't have surname or name. People call me Ginga.
Teienshi: I see. Don't worry, Ginga. Your name will remain in history as someone killed by me!
Teienshi has swung his pike. A blow from the horseback has emitted a silver arc.
A loud sound made both turbans and volunteers shiver.
A pike blow was blocked by a long sword.
Teienshi has put all his force into the blow. But it didn't even faze the young man.
...No, the impact from the blow was released into the ground. Ginga did not just stand like a rock.
Rocks break easily from strong force. Ginga was more of a water. No matter how much power you use on water, it will not break.
It seems he knew how to fight a bit. And that made Teienshi happy.
Ginga: I'll buy some nice wine for your head.
Teienshi: Don't bluff, youngster!
Court has recruited soldiers with many things.
Some for gold, some for fame, some for righteousness.
Embracing their destiny, many warriors has joined the force.
Court has named Kohosu, Shujun and Roshoku as punitive army's leaders and requested assistance of people.
With each strike, Ginga sweated more.
His hand began to shake.
Teienshi didn't look tired, if anything, he looked as if he enjoyed the battle. He was a master warrior.
After series of jokingly-weak blows, Ginga made a strong attack with a wide swing.
Yellow turbans have roared from the splendor of it.
However, that heavy blow got easily deflected.
Ginga: Damn.
Teienshi: Naive!
A leading feint from below, followed by attack, has knocked the sword from Ginga's hands.
...This is it.
Ginga has lost his footing and fell to the ground. He wanted to stand up, but couldn't gather the strength to do so.
His breathing was disturbed.
He was confused by his own heavy breathing.
Teienshi: You're no big deal.
Laughter has struck the earlobe.
As he was laughing, Ginga has raised his head, opening his neck.
Ginga: Take it.
Teienshi: I don't need your head. I'll split you in two from the head.
???: Wait!
A dignified voice has rang.
It didn't take long to find the source of it.
Volunteer army has opened the path naturally.
Ginga's eyes got glued to that female warlord. She had a beauty of a polished blade.
Or maybe, a heroic beauty of a lightning. Her long black hair waved from the battlefield's wind.
Her deep eyes and masterpiece body. (Seriously? Artists love themself)
A pike-like weapon that female warlord held was glittering in sun's light.
Ginga: Am I seeing an illusion... Did a god of war descend from the heaven?
Ginga's eyes saw that beautiful woman as a goddess of the battlefield.
He was already looking at the sky, giving up, after all.
It seems both volunteers and turbans felt the same. They began stepping away from that scene.
Teienshi: Who are you?
???: His life, this Kan'u will take!
Teienshi has laughed.
Teienshi: Don't make me laugh. I'll charge a lot for his worthless head.
Kan'u: It's up to him to decide if it's worthless or not.
Teienshi: Don't bluff, girl! For some reason... I want your head now!
He brandished his spear horizontally. And then swung.
Teienshi has rushed.
Teienshi: Die!
A metallic sound has echoed and something flew into the air.
It was the spear Teienshi had. Being hit in the middle, it flew into the sky, drawing an arc.
Ginga: ...This is a real warrior, huh.
Being able to witness the very essence of battle.
And when their saw their leader, turbans have screamed.
Teienshi was now missing his head.
He had a big red fountain in place of his head and, now, finally, his body has collapsed.
Ginga couldn't even see Kan'u's swing.
What happened was simple. After blocking Teienshi's swing, she used the same momentum to cut his head off.
Kan'u has raised her weapon and looked at already scared turbans.
I'm Ryubi Gentoku's first vassal, Kan'u Unchou! Those who fear me, run away! Those who don't want to live, come at me!
Ginga: ...Kan'u...!
From losing their leader, Yellow Turbans have lost all their momentum and began fleeing.
They were pressured by this single warrior.
The tide of war has changed.
Kan'u: If you believe in your destiny, stand!
Ginga: You don't need to tell me!
After realizing he's being talked to, he got back to his senses.
...Despite putting force to his feet, he already lost all his energy. Ginga was exausted.
However, he still stood up.
As if the words had some power of their own.
Kan'u: Heh, that's better.
Kan'u has smiled.
Even though it was the mighty Kan'u, for a moment, loveliness appeared instead of nobility.
Ginga was confused by that sudden change.
Kan'u: Let's go! Defeat the bandit army!
From Kan'u command, soldiers started moving, as if reborn.
Ginga: ...Are you telling me I have destiny too!?
Ginga asked that, but it couldn't be heard because of the soldiers' voices.
But, Ginga felt something, that looked like an answer, from Kan'u's back.
