In this clip for teaching hip-hop dance to kids I'm going to go over some of the fundamentals
of breaking. The first thing we're going to do is called the simple uprock. This is just
to get you going. So all you're going to do is come forward, and if you look at my foot
I'm on my toe not on my heel, you always want to be on your toe and light and nimble. OKay?
So, we're going to come to the right, to the left. And you want to swing your arms back
because that's going to give you some momentum. This is just to get you going. Alright? The
next thing we're going to do is an uprock to the floor. OKay? So we're going to kick
out, come back in, and then bring it to the floor. OKay? Let's try that. Five, six, seven,
eight. Uprock, and come down to the floor. Try it again. Five, six, seven, eight. One,
three, five, six, seven. One, two, three. The next thing we're going to do is called
the Six step. Because there's six steps in it it's called the six step. The first thing
you want to do is bring your foot around, then you're going to bring your left foot
back, you're going to bring your right foot back. This is when both your arms are on the
ground. Bring your left foot over, right foot in, and then left foot in. Alright, let's
try that a little faster. Five, six, seven, eight. Right, left, right, left, right, left.
