That document is scrutinised that day
and then used as a reference tool later on and then it’s the translation which is the important bit
and turning it into an actual classroom session,
or a work book, or an assignment,
or what do you actually put in there and that’s where it stands or falls isn’t it
because you can have the most fantastic module descriptor
but if you’ve got the wrong person in the classroom
it’s going to die on its feet!,
so it’s that translation into reality that’s the important element
and taking the bigger overview of how it all sits together,
so looking at it from the student’s experience is incredibly important
but as I say if you’ve got people coming in saying
“I’m not sure I agree with how you’ve phrased this learning outcome.”
“Okay, we'll change it then…”
and if someone makes a suggestion like that
then obviously you can postulate and say well thank you
but again that’s one person’s opinion and perhaps you haven’t phrased it how they would phrase it
but you’re not getting to what do you actually mean by this?
What do you want the student to be able to do by the end of this module?
