bjbj{P{P Laura I was initially attracted to BOC as I liked the idea of site work, some
hands on engineering. I liked the prospect of travel across the UK as there are so many
sites in BOC across the UK. I like the fact that BOC is accredited company so that I can
become a chartered engineer, which is one of my life goals. The recruitment process
was standard as other graduate schemes are. I applied, I did an online application form
and I went to an assessment centre, which I really enjoyed and really made me want to
work for BOC. I liked what I saw. Since working for BOC I have been involved with a lot of
projects, my role this year is a design engineer, I have been involved with cylinder packages.
I have been a project manager for several projects from start to finish, some with large
and some with small budgets. I have taken on trial projects, I have taken on problem
solving from myself. I am looking forward to my next role as a reliability engineer,
which will be based up in Sheffield. I am really looking forward too as I am a southerner
myself! I like the fact that it s going to be very practical and a lot of problem solving
with some of the theory side. I think as a woman in engineering its good as I have a
lot of opportunities from the company and a lot of people in the company that share
information with me. I am really looking forward to the next 3 years on the graduate scheme.
