BETTS AND BILL WANT TO ESCAPE THE COLD CANADIAN WINTERS
AND BUY A VACATION HOME
IN THE SUNNY-ALL-YEAR-ROUND DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.
THEIR FUTURE IS RIDING ON MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION,
BECAUSE ONE OF THESE THREE HOUSES
IS WHERE THEY SEE THEMSELVES RETIRING.
I LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF THIS HOUSE,
AND I LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF THAT ONE,
AND I LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF THAT ONE.

OPTION NUMBER 1 IS A 2-BED, 2-BATH VILLA
WITH ALMOST 1,500 SQUARE FEET.

THE LOCATION WAS PHENOMENAL.

NICE, BRIGHT, OPEN.
BIG, BIG YARD.
REAL BIG YARD. I JUST LIKE THE POOL.

YEAH, AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE
LIVING THERE FULL-TIME, IT MIGHT BE A PROBLEM.
WITH THE RENTERS, IT MIGHT BE A CONCERN ALSO.

OPTION NUMBER 2 ALSO HAS 1,500 SQUARE FEET,
TWO BEDROOMS AND TWO BATHS
BUT HAS LESS USEABLE YARD SPACE.
(Bill) THE VIEW WAS REALLY, REALLY GOOD FROM THERE
(Betts) YEAH, THAT WAS NICE.
(Cisco) NOT A LOT OF YARD, AND WHAT WAS THERE,
YOU COULDN'T REALLY USE, 'CAUSE IT WAS ON A SLOPE THERE.
AND THAT BEAUTIFUL CALICHE STONE.
YEAH, THAT FEATURE WALL.
THAT FEELS NEAT, EH?
KITCHEN WAS GIANT IN THAT HOUSE.
YEAH, RIGHT.

YEAH, THAT'S TRUE.
A LITTLE FARTHER FROM TOWN.
PRICED SLIGHTLY HIGHER AT...
OPTION NUMBER 3 IS A 2-BEDROOM, 2-BATH CONDO
WITH 1,500 SQUARE FEET
AND RESORT-LIKE AMENITIES.

YEAH, I THINK THAT WOULD BE GOOD FOR RENTERS,
BUT I THINK BEING THAT CLOSE TO THE WATER PARK
AND THE PLAYGROUND AND STUFF
MIGHT GET A LITTLE OLD WHEN YOU LIVE THERE.
PLUS, I MEAN, YOU'RE NOT SO CLOSE TO TOWN.
(Betts) AND THE KITCHEN WAS NICELY LAID OUT.
THEY ALL HAVE VERY GOOD PLUSES AND MINUSES.
SO WHICH ONE DID THEY CHOOSE?

BUT THE ONE THAT WE DID CHOSE WAS...
THE BUNGALOW IN RESIDENCIAL HISPANIOLA.
WE'RE REALLY HAPPY WITH THE HOUSE WE PICKED.
WE LOVE THE OPENNESS, THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE MAIN ROOM,
THE LARGE YARD, THE POOL.
AND THE RENTAL OPPORTUNITY
AS WELL AS BEING ABLE TO LIVE THERE IN THE FUTURE.
YEAH, I'M HAPPY.
RIGHT ON.
IT'S NICE TO FINALLY GET SOME FURNITURE
TO KIND OF FINISH IT OFF, EH?
SO THE FIRST TIME WE WERE DOWN HERE,
WE JUST CAME DOWN AND ENJOYED THE SPACE.
NOW THE SECOND TIME, WE'RE MAKING IT OUR OWN.
WE BOUGHT SOME TABLES AND SOME CHAIRS.
BOUGHT A BARBECUE.
WE ADDED SOME STATUES AND BROUGHT DOWN THE GUITAR
AND BROUGHT THE MUSIC DOWN, THE TUNES,
SO WE HAVE THE STEREO AND THE SATELLITE RADIO,
AND IT'S REALLY, REALLY NICE.
THE KITCHEN SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE BIT SMALL,
BUT IT DOESN'T BOTHER US AT ALL.
FOR OUR RENTERS, IT'S NOT A BIG PROBLEM.
WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE IS A MICROWAVE, A COFFEEPOT
AND A BLENDER TO MAKE RUM DRINKS.
OTHER THAN THAT, THEY'RE FINE.
BUT THIS IS OUR FAVORITE PART-- COMING OUTSIDE,
BEING ABLE TO SIT OUT HERE 365 DAYS OF THE YEAR.
IT'S NOT LIKE AT HOME WHERE IT'S COLD AND IT'S 40 BELOW
AND YOU'VE GOT TO STAY IN THE HOUSE.
(Bill) BROUGHT SOME HOCKEY STICKS
TO KEEP THE TOUCH OF CANADA.
YOU GUYS ARE MANIACS.
ONE MORE THING TO DO IS TO SHIP ONE OF THE MOTORCYCLES DOWN
AND GET ON WITH THAT.
IT'LL BE FUN TO RIDE DOWN HERE FOR SURE.
