Hey guys, we're learning how to do some improv exercises and the first exercise we're going
to show you now is called Attitude Scene. To play Attitude Scene, you're going to want
your two improvisers to improvise a brief scene. Now similar to another exercise that
you saw earlier. We're going to make, we're going to take emotional choices and present
our characters through our emotional lens. But for this particular activity, the other
character, the other actor is not going to know what emotional choice this first actor
has chosen or been given. Now to do this, your actors could either come up with a choice,
on the spot and keep it to themselves or they can ask for a suggestion from the audience
or from the rest of the team. Just make sure that the other actor doesn't hear what it
is. And then, as the scene progresses, your character is going to respond and add information
and be filtered through the lens of that emotion or that, that attitude choice. So, Dan and
I are going to go ahead and do a brief demonstration on what a scene would look like. Our scene
is going to take place in front of a Vietnam Veteran's Convention. Okay, it's going to
take place in front of a convention and for the sake of the demonstration, we're just
going to go ahead and give the camera what our attitude choices and then play it. Even
if we know. Optimistic. Dignified. Wow, there really are a lot of veterans here. What a
bunch of great people. Their absolutely are. Now sir, we're going to ask that once the
meeting begins that you can please take pictures without your flash on. We would hate for it
to distract any of the veterans. Well, I, I certainly hate to distract any veterans.
I will certainly turn off my flash when I'm taking pictures. Wonderful, wonderful. Now
what do you think so far of our presentation? Do you think they?re going to be excited about
what we have lined up from them? Oh, I'm excited and if their half as excited as I am, it's
just going to be a whole big room of excited people. I'm going to get a lot of great shots.
That's wonderful. Once again, we're just going to ask that you don't be too evasive with
your photography. Oh sure. No, no,no. There's no way that I can do that. I don't think there's
any way at all I can do that. I'm very positive about the future. Well, thank you. We appreciate
your professionalism. And that's how you play attitude scene.
