Hello folks and welcome back to SWTOR Central, in this video
i'll be taking you through the classes "Sith Assassin" and "Jedi Shadow" so you can
decide if either one is the class YOU want to play, out of the 16 in total
that you can choose from!
We'll be going over combat playstyle and story! But don't worry
there won't be any spoilers!
Let's start with the story. The Sith Assassin share's the same
story playthrough as the Sith Sorcerer, just as the Jedi Shadow
shares the same story as the Jedi Sage. So regardless of the one you
choose you'll get the same story line. You can of course make
different choices along the way to mix things up and see how
differently it can play out. Each class has it's own story focus
point, for the assassin this is power and dark side artifacts.
The story takes you on an epic adventure of exploring the dark side
and it's history. You start out as a slave who has been sent to the
sith academy for training, you'll undergo trials to prove your
worthyness to become an apprentice to a powerful Sith Lord, beware
though, you're not the only one competing for this opportunity!
From shocking people during conversations to
choosing dark sadistic dialouge options. It's difficult to REALLY
tell you about the story without spoiling the majour plot, so i'll
say this. After experiencing the story to the end and seeing how things
play out when the most powerful sith are watching, you'll be left
with some pretty intense goosebumps and a state of awe
leaving you wanting so much more!
As for the Jedi Shadow's storyline, well... let's just say that it's not the crowd favourite.
This storyline has you focused on healing powers and force enlightenment. But don't
let me fool you, you'll still be engaging with dark side users in combat along with
the typical bad guy boss fight at the end. Emphasis on
the healing rituals though. When you start out, you're recognised as a
Jedi with potential and are given a Master to
exploit that. Things quickly turn south though and you'll be left on your own adventure,
choosing between the light and the dark.
Moving onto the gameplay aspect, let's go through what the Assassin and Shadow can do.
These classes use a Double bladed lightsaber, which makes it
a melee class. They also use the ability of stealth,
making themselves invisible to the enemy and striking from the shadows!
But wait, there is more! Depending on which Discipline you decide
to play with (we'll get to that in a moment), you could also have
terrifying force abilities such as Death Field and Discharge from the Assassin or
elegant saber mastery with powerful light side abilities, all at
your disposal! Rewinding back to Disciplines, these are actually very
important. Because these will dictate what kind of Sith Assassin
you are. You'll have three options, which are available to you the
moment you start playing. Keep in mind, you can change these at a
later time if you want to. That's a choice of three different playstyles
for each the Assassin and Shadow. For the Assassin your three options are Deception
/ Hatred
and Darkness! Darkness will take you down the path of a Tank.
Granting you defensive bonuses along with damage resisting AND
reflecting abilities, don't be fooled though, this path can still
be a more than formiddable foe when played correctly!
Deception takes you down the path of burst damage, meaning you'll
be able to send bundles of lightning balls to your enemy with savage
saber movement, this path is not one to be taken lightly. It can make
quick work of the toughest foes.
Hatred takes you down the path of... let's say agonising pain.
With this path you'll be able to cast "damage over time" abilities with
names such as Affliction and Creeping terror! Along with this you'll
get the ability Death Field, which is a bit of a throwback to the
OG KOTOR games. With this ability you can suck the health right
out of an area of enemies and claim it for your own!
Now the way these classes work, are in a mirrored fashion. So with the Jedi Shadow
you get the same options as the assassin, just they have different names and the animations
look a little different. The Jedi Shadow has Infriltration, which is the equivelant of
Deception. Serenity is the equivelant of Hatred and last
but no least, Kinetic Combat is the equivelant of Darkness.
Overall, these classes are very fun to play and are actually the
ones I main on SWTOR. It's also very easy to play as far as difficulty
goes and this is especially true for endgame. Not only do these
classes dish out a ton of damage, but they have the awesome animations
to back it up! If you're still unsure of the story aspect for this class
then I urge you to watch the first chapter of the story here on Youtube.
I can almost guarantee that if you're a player who loves being the
bad guy, then the assassin will rock your socks off. The jedi shadow will probably not
effect your socks...
