Three PPI networks were merged into one and associated information (co-expression, sequence similarity, and co-occurence in scientific literature) added. Load the network.
The metagraph displays one concept and relation; the main network is displayed as a circle.
Change to GEM layout to view all relations and concepts.
Smooth relations to use anti-aliased painting (see tutorial for explanation).
To colour the relations using the 'Scale/colour relations by numerical value' annotator using the interaction weight attribute associated with each protein.
The rainbow pallet allows a spectrum of colours to represent the strength of interaction between proteins.
The network displays those with minimum interaction in purple and maximum interaction in red. Those with none are displayed as grey.
Colour concepts by the combined degree of centrality (hub likeness) using the 'Scale concepts by numerical value' annotator.
Filter the network according to how influential a relation is between proteins using the threshold filter.
Zoom in on the distribution to choose cut-off value. After filtering the resulting is graph is considerably smaller.
Add labels to concepts so as to be able to identify proteins above the threshold.
Manipulate the layout of the graph so as to make it clearer by dragging and dropping concepts.
Refresh the layout (using the option in Appearance) to produce the final view of the filtered network.
