Bathroom updates are a great way to increase your home's resale value while making everyday
life better at the same time. Today we're going to show you 5 ways you can give your
bathroom a makeover on a budget.
We had these pictures sent in to show us what our project bathroom looked like before the
makeover. Now let's take a look at these 5 tips.
Before you start planning any major renovations, consider replacing your shower curtain and
bath towels. When someone walks in, the shower curtain is one of the first things that will
grab their attention. So, think about a shower curtain with a bold color or pattern. They're
affordable and very easy to replace. Complete the look by swapping out the bath towels.
Although less conspicuous than the curtain, your towels can complement your bathroom's
new theme.
Next up, consider replacing your existing hardware, such as the drawer knobs, door knobs,
and towel bars. Towel bars are simple to install, affordable, and can accent the finish of the
new fixtures in your bathroom. Click here to learn how to install a towel bar.
Another idea is to replace your smaller plumbing fixtures, like your shower head and bathroom
sink faucet. They are easy to replace and can add new functions your previous fixtures
may not have had. For example, installing a shower head with variable settings is a
great way to bring some luxury to your bathroom. Click on one of the links below to learn how
to install one of these fixtures.
Tip #4: Replace the lighting fixtures. Lighting fixtures are easier to replace than you might
think and can greatly enhance the atmosphere of the bathroom. Try to match the finish of
the light fixture with the finish of your new plumbing fixtures for additional style
points. Click here to learn how to install a bathroom vanity light.
And finally, try painting over different surfaces in the bathroom. New paint is an affordable
upgrade that changes the entire feel of a bathroom. But don't limit yourself to just
the walls. For example, we weren't happy with the color of our Oak vanity, so instead of
replacing it we simply painted over it. And after just a few hours, our vanity looked
brand new and more in line with our new theme.
We hope these tips were helpful today, and we welcome you to join us on our next project.
