In good governance news, Bolivia supports small farmers and native plant varieties.
Bolivian President His Excellency Evo Morales has signed a law that seeks to ensure food
security for the Andean country. The government of the nation will allocate US$5 billion over
10 years in a plan that will establish a state seed bank for native crops, as well as offer
generous credits to small farmers. Furthermore, investment in mechanized agriculture and irrigation
systems will take place.
Congratulations, Your Excellency Evo Morales and Bolivia, on this significant step. May
all countries, leaders, and co-citizens look to organic agricultures to bring our world
to a sustainable and vibrant era, with God’s grace.
