How long will it take to fix my transmission? A standard transmission overhaul or rebuild,
at my shop here at All Transmission is going to run between 3 and 5 days. The transmission
is a very labor intensive type of repair to be done. We do have removal of the transmission
and a lot of our vehicles do run between 6 hours, 5 hours, 8 hours, just to remove the
transmission so that we can get it disassembled. We then disassemble the vehicle, transmission,
we go through our parts, and then we order parts. Now, that's the one part I cannot control.
Some of these different transmissions have clutches that are a 90th thousandths of an
inch is their thickness with 24 teeth. We don't always get the correct thickness or
the correct teeth count. Therefore I like to add at least an extra day, which is covered
in the 3-5, for a parts malfunction coming in incorrectly. 3-5 is a good estimate. Now,
once we get in and begin removing the transmission, we're not just looking at your transmission.
While we have the vehicle up in the air, we're inspecting your rack and pinion, your tie
rod ends, your u-joints, your ball joints. That way if there's anything else we see that's
going to cause any type of damage in the future, we want you to be made aware of that as well.
Some of these things, because of the labor intensity of removing the transmission, we
can take care of with just a parts cost because we've already taken care of the labor of removing
to get to that part. That is why we do this as a step by step process. That way we are
fully aware, every step of the process, if we have found something that needs your attention,
or even just something that may need your attention in the future. Um, we like to do
step by step. Good. Thanks for watching the videos. This is Stephanie from All Transmission
