When you're married its easy to let life take over. What used to be guest rooms and computer
rooms are slowly transformed into kids rooms. That slightly inappropriate calender that
you had hanging on the wall becomes a calender of puppies, kittens and Disney Princesses.
And as the years pass by its easy to lose sight of the fact that it all started with just... 2 people.
If you have never used spray adhesive before there are three types,
light weight, middle weight and heavy weight. Use the light weight for an application like this,
it is similar to the adhesion you would find on the back of a sticky note. I have more
information on my website, including where you can find the type I am using here. I'll
put a link in the description. And for the rest of this I'll just draw by hand what I had in mind.
Cut this down on the miter saw.
Quick to the band saw Robin!
Sanding...is their anything you would rather be doing?
The whole purpose of putting that red base down first,
is that I want parts of it to show thru the white top coat and give me a slightly weathered look.
I really want to hightlight the imperfections that might come about in this piece.
I'm using a roto zip to unevenly sand off the edges, applying more pressure in some areas than others,
I don't want this to have a smooth look around the edges.
Now I want to take these rough edges
and apply some contrast.
White around the red.
Red around the white.
Mod Podge works better for an application like this than glue. It goes on opaque, dries clear.
I'm also going to use it as a sealer for the whole project.
Well, in the end their is a lot I could have done to make this look more refined,
and I didn't want any of them.
Because in my opinion a good relationship,
is never about perfection.

Until then, I'll see ya later.
