Hello, my name is Dr. Susan Jewell and in this clip we're going to talk about testicular
cancer, the definition of testicular cancer and why you should do a monthly testicular
self exam. Now, what's the definition of testicular cancer? Basically it's a cancer when there's
an abnormal rapid and invasive growth of cancerous cells in the ***. These are malignant
cells. You'll see this in the cancer in the *** itself. That's why it is so important
that you do a monthly self testicular examination so that if you ever suspect that you might
have testicular cancer, you can recognize it early, the signs and symptoms and then
you can go and be immediately seen by your medical professional doctor. Now, testicular
cancer can present at a very early age, as young as twelve years old. It's important
that you educate the boys at that age group as well about testicular cancer and also how
you can prevent it and screen it very early age to prevent it from happening because testicular
cancer is a very curable disease. In the series of clips that you're going to see, we're going
to show you how to do a self testicular exam.
